​It is reported from Osama Bin Zeid, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: “O Messenger of Allah! I did not see you fasting in any month as you do in the month of Shaban.”


The Prophet said: “People neglect this month which is between Rajab and Ramadan, in this month the deeds of the people are presented to Allah; so I like my deeds to be presented while I am fasting.”

Note: 

• Starting tomorrow Saturday 3/30, the Iqama of Fajr prayer will be at 6am and Asr Iqama will be at 5:15pm
• Last Friday March 21, Dr Shakir Hamoodi visited the Muslim Community at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois to raise funds for our Community Center Project. Alhamdulillah, the response was encouraging.

Quran and Arabic Classes

1. Quran Tafseer every Friday after Isha
2. Quranic Arabic every Monday after Isha 
3. Arabic for beginners every Wednesday 6:00 - 7:30pn, Strickland Hall, Room 112

Adhan Workshop
There will be an adhan workshop given every Sunday after dhuhr prayer at the ICCM by brother Mohammed Elkomi.

Discover Islam
The 6th lecture of Discover Islam, titled "Poverty: Islamic Solution", will be given by Dr. Shakir Hamoodi on Thursday April 11 between 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm at Strickland Hall, room 114.

Brothers Volleyball @ the ARC
There will be a volleyball event for brothers at Columbia ARC on Sunday, April 7th from 5:45pm to 7:30pm. There is a $5 entrance fee and you can sign up by clicking this link. 

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

1. The Refugee Office needs some help clearing out and sorting through their storage space so that they can be prepared for new refugee families. We are in need of 10 volunteers. Email [email protected] if you are interested in helping.
