Topics from the Eigth Juz' of Quran

Imam Abdullah will discuss the following topics in his Ramadan Daily dars before Ishaa:

The eighth juz of the Qur’an starts at Suratul-AnAam ayah 111 and goes to Suratul-A’raaf ayah 87.  In these verses, Some of the points that Allah talks about are:

  1. Allah begins this juz by informing us that those who disbelieve will not believe unless it is the will of Allah.  Even if the angels were sent and the dead spoke to them, they still would not believe. Verse 111
  2. Allah informs us that whoever he wants to guide, he expands his chest to Islam.  Meaning that the love for Islam will be put inside of him and heart will be righteous.  Also, whoever Allah wants to misguide he will make his chest tight and constricted.  Meaning his heart will be filled with problems and he will live with internal suffering.  Those who Allah wants to guide will have paradise. Verses 125-127
  3. Allah informs us about some of the things that are prohibited for us.  We are prohibited from associating any partners along with Allah.  Allah has also warned us against treating our parents in a bad way.  He also prohibited us from killing our children out of fear of poverty.  This is because Allah will provide you us and for our children.  Allah prohibits us from immoralities and to not kill anyone except by legal right.   Verses 151
  4. Allah ends Suratul An’Aam by commanding the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) to say that indeed my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living, and my dying are all for Allah.  We should not seek a lord other than Allah because Allah is the lord of all things.  Allah informs us that he is swift in punishment while at the same time he is forgiving and merciful verses 161-165
  5. Allah begins Suratul-A’raaf by affirming that the Quran is a book that has been revealed by Allah and that the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) should not have any distress in his chest so that he can use this book to warn the people.  We have been commanded to follow what has been revealed in this book. Verses 1-2
  6. Allah commands us that we should wear our best clothing when we stand before him in prayer.  He also encourages us to eat and drink but for us not to be excessive in that    verse 31
  7. Allah ends this juz by telling us some parts of the stories of some of the prophets and what they went through with their people. Verses 59-87
