Imam Abdullah will discuss some of the following topics in his Ramadan Daily dars before Ishaa:

The third juz of the Qur’an starts at Suratul-Baqarah ayah 253 and goes to Surat Ali Imraan ayah 92.  In these verses, Some of the points that Allah talks about are:

  1. Shaykh Abdur-Rahman As-Sa’dee in his tafseer said that Ayatul-Kursi is the greatest and most virtuous ayah of the Quran due to the great affairs that Allah talks about in this ayah. verse 255.
  2. Allah encourages us to give in charity by showing us how he will reward us and double our reward when we give our wealth in charity.  He also talks about the people who give charity then go around reminding people about the charity that they have given.  These people will not only have their charity NOT accepted but, they will receive a terrible punishment. verses 261-264.
  3. Allah prohibits riba. Allah allows for the people to indulge in trade and has made ribaa haraam.  Allah informs us that those who do not stop dealing in ribaa then he will wage war against them.  May Allah protect us. verses 275-279
  4. Ayatud-Dayn (the verse of the loan) is the longest ayah of the Qur’an.  In this verse Allah established the permissibility of all types of loans. Some types of loans have conditions for their permissibility as has been established in the Qur’an and Sunnah     verse 282
  5. Allah begins Surat Ali Imraan with talking about his divine right to be worshiped.  It is not permissible to worship other than Allah.  Every thing that is worshiped besides Allah is worshipped in falsehood. Ali Imraan verses 1-6
  6. Allah informs us that the love of that which the people desire has been beautified for us.  Women, sons, gold and silver, fine horses, and land.  These are the affairs of this life that people love the most.  The people are divided into two categories as it relates to these issues: 1) Those who are only concerned with these issues and make their entire life around these issues. 2) Those who know that these are just tests from Allah and use them as tools to get close to Allah. verses 14-17
  7. Allah talks about the story of Maryum and how she was chosen.  Also, Allah informs us about how she became pregnant with her son Isa Alayhis-Salaam.  This shows us that even though Isa had a miraculous birth, it does not mean that he had any divine qualities. verses 33-60

May Allah bless all of us and guide us all in our affairs.
